Artist Statement
“Traveling. It leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.”
My name is Rebecca, I am 25 years old with a passion for the arts, education and travel. The world has so much to offer, and I hope that one day I will see it all. I prefer to see the world through the lens of my camera and capture the beauty that it holds.
As time goes on, we forget things... not always the bigs things, but the small details. We might not always remember the name of our favorite coffee shop in Barcelona or the exact color of the Jersey flowers. That’s why my photos are my most valuable keepsakes, because I want to always be able to look back at the experiences I’ve had, the friends I’ve made and the places I’ve been blessed to explore.
In 2012 I was fortunate to be chosen along with two friends to come teach in Amami. That experience was a chance of a lifetime and working with those kids was something I will never forget. Amami opened my eyes to it’s beauty, culture and friendly people. I am very grateful for my artwork to be a part of this exhibition and I hope to one day make it back to Amami to create more wonderful memories. Thank you Amami for everything you have to offer.
Cheers!
